His journey began in the vibrant streets of Rio de Janeiro, where he had the privilege of training at the renowned original Gracie Barra. Under the tutelage of legendary figures like Carlos Gracie and Papa John, Nenem honed his craft and developed a deep understanding of the art. After this transformative experience, he returned to Miami, where he trained with Rilion Gracie, earning his blue belt along the way.

Nenem’s prowess on the competition circuit is noteworthy; he has secured numerous gold medals in local tournaments, demonstrating his versatility in both gi and no-gi formats. He also advanced his skills further by earning his purple and brown belts from Justin Bounaito.
